Hyundai’s electric vehicle lineup is once again taking the top spots, with the 2025 IONIQ 5 and 2025 IONIQ 6 earning two of the most prestigious honors from Cars.com. For the second consecutive year, both models have been recognized in the publication’s newly updated 2026 EV Buying Guide. The IONIQ 6 was named the “Top EV Pick” in the Electric Car category, while the IONIQ 5 took home the “Top EV Pick” for Two-Row electric SUVs.
The awards highlight Hyundai’s commitment to delivering a combination of cutting-edge technology, impressive efficiency, and everyday usability in its electric vehicles.
Cars.com Detroit Bureau Chief, Aaron Bragman, praised both vehicles for their strengths. He noted the IONIQ 6’s remarkable efficiency, which allows for a driving range of up to 342 miles and an ability to fast-charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes. Bragman also commended its “sleek styling, a comfortable cabin, and a sub-$40,000 starting price,” calling it “one of the most well-rounded EVs available today.”
The IONIQ 5 received equal praise for its practicality and user-friendly design. Bragman pointed out that the SUV “makes you feel instantly at home behind the wheel thanks to excellent visibility, intuitive controls and a comfortable ride.” He added that its “roomy cargo space, blazing-fast charging and practical touches like physical buttons for everyday comfort” solidified its place as the top choice for a two-row electric SUV.
Ricky Lao, director of product planning for Hyundai Motor North America, expressed his excitement over the repeat honors. “Our team works hard to deliver best-in-class electric vehicles that bring together innovative design, impressive efficiency and advanced technology,” said Lao. “This continued recognition from the team at Cars.com reinforces Hyundai’s engineering prowess.”
The Cars.com “Top EV Picks” are selected from a competitive field of new and redesigned models based on criteria that include quality, innovation, and value. With these back-to-back wins, the Hyundai IONIQ lineup continues to demonstrate its leading position in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market.
