Hyundai Motor America’s dedication to making a positive impact on society has been recognized with three prestigious honors at the 2025 Ragan Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards. The company was celebrated for its work in community outreach, public health, and safety, reflecting its global vision of “Progress for Humanity.”
Prioritizing Child Safety: The Hyundai Hope Initiative
Hyundai’s Child Passenger and Pedestrian Safety Initiative received dual honors, winning in both the ‘CSR Initiatives’ and ‘Public Health or Safety Initiative’ categories. This program, a cornerstone of Hyundai Hope, is a powerful example of community collaboration in action. It brings together families, certified safety experts, and partner hospitals across the country to tackle the critical issue of child safety in and around vehicles.
Through events like free car seat checks, Hyundai helps parents and caregivers learn how to properly install car seats, while also promoting general road safety awareness for children. Brian Latouf, president and global chief safety and quality officer at Hyundai Motor Group, emphasized this commitment, stating, “We value and appreciate the honorable recognition by Ragan Communications and are committed to doing our part in keeping children and our passengers safe while driving.”

A Culture of Employee-Driven Engagement
In the ‘Community Relations’ category, Hyundai’s Amigos Unidos Employee Resource Group was celebrated for its impactful contributions. This employee-led group is a shining example of how a company’s values can be brought to life from the ground up. Through volunteerism, mentorship programs for underserved youth, and cultural awareness events, Amigos Unidos fosters positive change both within the company and in the wider community.
Brandon Ramirez, director of corporate social responsibility at Hyundai Motor North America, expressed his pride in the achievement, noting that the awards “motivate us to continue investing in our communities, advancing public health, and creating a safer future for children and families across the country.”
In addition to these wins, Hyundai and Genesis also received five Honorable Mention recognitions, further solidifying their position as leaders in purpose-driven initiatives. These awards from Ragan Communications celebrate organizations that are setting the benchmark for community engagement, and Hyundai’s recognition serves as a testament to its genuine and lasting commitment to building a safer, healthier, and more sustainable future for all.
